John Powell Asian Garden Renovation

The space features a Japanese Karesansui garden (dry garden) designed by landscape artist John Powell, specializing in Japanese style gardens. Over four days and the support of several organizations and volunteers, this work documents the construction of the new renovations from start to finish as well as a personal interview with John as he discusses the though process in his approach, challenges, materials, execution, and more behind this project.

The garden is located on the Osler Dr. entrance of Towson’s Center for the Arts building and is open to the public to view and stroll through.
